Inconvenient Lives

I am very interested in watching the movie The Stoning of Soraya M., it reminds one of the other innocents killed such as in the Holocaust, the millions of innocent unborn babies killed each year. It is not the number of innocents killed that matters most, as one innocent, is one too many as the movie will show. Unfortunately when tens of millions died due to central planning of agriculture by Stalin, he said, "when you kill a few it is a horror, when you kill millions it is a statistic." Unfortunately that is what has happened with abortion , to many it is not horror or gruesom anymore but simply numbers, and when millions are murdered for convenience it is just a statistic or a "choice". Although the way her husband framed her for adultery and had his innocent wife killed will be a horror to many, it is no longer a horror when millions of innocents are killed. And where was the outrage in Yugoslavia, the outrage enough for action in Rwanda. Too bad but unfortunately we don't always seem too moved by the killing of others outside our nation, outside our family. Only decadent societies become so inured to the killing of innocents. What does it take to move us anymore? What will it take before we demand action, I must say a leader who can watch the video about Neda bleeding to death on the sidewalk , and who encourages and promotes the funding of abortion, is not the type to meddle to save lives and yet he can embrace a brutal dictator like Hugo Chavez, not meddle with Ahmendinejad, meet with Putin but bypass the countries that have had "color" revolutions. Where is the friend of democracy it seems as if that friend of democracy is no longer in office. Welcome to the Hegelian realists, whose idealism extends only to breaking down barriers to homosexuality and abortion, but for the rest of you yearning to be free, whetherin Iran or Honduras, he has a deaf ear, unfortunately.
