Should Nancy Pelosi inspire loyalty?
It appears that Nancy Pelosi is willing to shove conservative Blue Dog Democrats out on a limb in order to do Obama's bidding and get a bill passed before the August recess. She has no skin in the game, as her district did not vote for her as a fiscal conservative. It unfortunately is a loyalty that cuts one way, trying collecting chits when you are no longer in office because you were turned out for following the party line by voting for bills you did not even have time to read. This is like FDR's efforts to pack the Supreme Court, he overreached. Well Pelosi and Obama are overreaching this time, the Senate will not go along, and many conservative Democrats might not either.

The Associated Press
At One time there were two wire services and they competed with each other UPI and the AP. Haven't seen articles by UPI for quite some time. Over time, however have seen the bent of AP articles become more and more predominately liberal, much the same as the network news. The latest article by the AP has such an anti-military slant could not keep quiet any longer.
soldiers in the Fort Carson's 4th brigade of the 4th infantry divsion have been involved in five killings in the last two years. Nowhere in the article does it bother to mention that as the Army found it more and more difficult to recruit while war was going on, started letting ex gang members in the military. This unfortunatley has led to Bloods, Crips and other notorious gangs reforming in the military and their graffiti tags can be found on concrete barriers in Iraq. Some servicemembers have been killed during initiation ceremonies in Germany, off base. We have not had a homicide rate among veterans as high as the general population in the past, however perhaps that is changing. Nowhere in the article is any mention of gangs at all. There have been 121 homicides by veterans in the last four years out of a force of 1.1 million. To put that in perspective, among the population at large, nationally 6 people out of every 100,000 are killed each year, since most are not serial killers, that means out of population of 1.1 million approximately 60 murderers per year or 240 in a four year period. So while the rate is lower, when a unit of 3700 soldiers has five killings in a two year period that is cause for alarm in that unit.
The whole tone of the article is that the average veteran is somehow dangerous to those in the city he lives, this is simply not true. This hyperbole concerning veterans got so bad that an internal memo in the Homeland Security Dept, listed possible terrorists as those who own guns, veterans and prolifers. So I guess as a prolife, veteran who owns a gun, I would be a triple threat. That is plain ludicrous, but it represents the liberal worldview. Post traumatic stress is not good and can be very stressful indeed, but to extrapolate that the 4th Brigade Combat team of the 4th Infantry is somehow an average unit with a homicide rate of 75 homicides per 100,000 people, that is four times as high as the Texas homicide rate of 18, and over twelve times as high as the national rate is scurrilous.

Stimulus or Chicago "machine" politics on a national scale
It appears in spreading around the "stimulus" bill the dollars are going mainly to districts and states that were battleground areas on a higher dollars per capita than states that voted for Obama%, does anyone doubt that this is anything less than the old "spoils" system, the "spoils" are the dollars which will have to be paid back by your children and grandchildren but will be spent in the next 4 years to guarantee the 200 and 2012 elections. This is not stimulate the economy, it is to stimulate you to vote Democrat, period. Florida, Oregon and North Carolina are battling double digit unemployment, but since they are solidly in the tank for the Dems will get little per capita. O n the other hand, states that Obama would like to win next time like North Dakota and South Dakota, will receive large amounts per capita , despite having unemployment rates below the national average. Wyoming which has the lowest 3.9% unemployment rates in teh country will get $1,074 per resident. Nevada where uneployment is 11.3% 167 billion dollars was spread out to the states and they are using it not to start "shovel ready" projects, even though 80% of the people laid off were men. Instead the money is going primarily into apron ready jobs, jobs for women in social work, teaching and healthcare. Unfortunately, those are the areas that had the smallest amount of layoffs. So the stimulus package is going mainly to preserve existing jobs in the auto and government sectors, while the men in construction and manufacturing are left high and dry.
This is as a direct result of a coalition of women's group who went to the Administration, and changed the original "shovel-ready" stimulus bill, to preserving women's jobs. The bill was then put together in the middle of the night and Congressmen were not furnished with copies or time to read it, before they passed it. This is a Pelosi bill all the way, even Harry Reid did not have as much influence in crafting the bill. When the administration disagreed with Nancy Pelosi, Rahm emmanuel bulled her, but in the end, on most things Pelosi and the women's groups held sway.

Inconvenient Lives
I am very interested in watching the movie The Stoning of Soraya M., it reminds one of the other innocents killed such as in the Holocaust, the millions of innocent unborn babies killed each year. It is not the number of innocents killed that matters most, as one innocent, is one too many as the movie will show. Unfortunately when tens of millions died due to central planning of agriculture by Stalin, he said, "when you kill a few it is a horror, when you kill millions it is a statistic." Unfortunately that is what has happened with abortion , to many it is not horror or gruesom anymore but simply numbers, and when millions are murdered for convenience it is just a statistic or a "choice". Although the way her husband framed her for adultery and had his innocent wife killed will be a horror to many, it is no longer a horror when millions of innocents are killed. And where was the outrage in Yugoslavia, the outrage enough for action in Rwanda. Too bad but unfortunately we don't always seem too moved by the killing of others outside our nation, outside our family. Only decadent societies become so inured to the killing of innocents. What does it take to move us anymore? What will it take before we demand action, I must say a leader who can watch the video about Neda bleeding to death on the sidewalk , and who encourages and promotes the funding of abortion, is not the type to meddle to save lives and yet he can embrace a brutal dictator like Hugo Chavez, not meddle with Ahmendinejad, meet with Putin but bypass the countries that have had "color" revolutions. Where is the friend of democracy it seems as if that friend of democracy is no longer in office. Welcome to the Hegelian realists, whose idealism extends only to breaking down barriers to homosexuality and abortion, but for the rest of you yearning to be free, whetherin Iran or Honduras, he has a deaf ear, unfortunately.
An Inconvenient Life
I highly recommend Stephen Hayes movie review of the new movie The Stoning of Soraya M. I now want to see the movie some have said that it is more powerful than Schindler's List that would have to go pretty far. Let's say it is as powerful that still says a lot. From reading the review it appears it is about a husband who wanted to marry a young girl, but he was already married so his wife is an inconvenience getting in his way. So he concocts a tale that she commited adultery and has other men in the village including the gullible mayor participate. Sentence is handed down and Soraya M. an innocent woman is stoned to death. It is based on a true story. It reminded me back in the Old testament, God was very unhappy with the Israelites who were offering their children in the furnace to the god Baal.
More than a million babies per year are killed by abortion just in the United States alone, and how few protest. In a little over four years as many unborn babies are killed in the US than Jews died in the Holocaust. What does Baal, the Holocaust, abortion and Soraya M. all have in common, pure and simple regardless of how full or devoid of malice, millions of innocent lives have been shed, the blood is on the hands of all who do not speak out against such evil!! Go see the movie and then think about it, how many innocen ts must die before you will say anything when evil is being committed, when innocent human beings are killed, it is everyone's business , the world did not act quick enough in Rwanda or Yugoslavia, and has still taken no action concerning the millions of abortions per year throughout the world.
A single innocent human life is worth as many as a million. It is not the number that counts. Stalin said kill a few people and it is a tragedy, kill millions and it is a statistic. Unfortunately he was on to something. We can get agitated about Neda and her death on video, we will go watch the ston ing of Soraya M, we get irate about Hitler and the Holocaust. But how many people today are teaching young people about the tens of millions of unnecessary abortions for convenience, and the unnecessary tens of millions killed by Mao Tse Tung in the so called Great Leap Forward which caused mass starvation or the mass starvation of tens of millions by Stalin, why is is that the Communists get so little reprobation while Hitler alone does. Why is it serial killers like Che Guevara are on t shirts of liberals, however a better image might be Mother Theresa or Martin Luther King, not Malcolm X.
We should only romanticize those who are peaceful like Ghandi, not killers like Che, that is twisted, and why put out a movie somehow romanticizing Dillinger he also was a serial killer, there is nothing romantic about murder, except to those whose morality has somehow gone off the rails. It is time to get back on the path to right, and get out of the forest of wickedness and depravity. The Devil glamorizes evil. The Devil alone tempts you toward wickedness, he appeals to your pride in saying you don't need rules, you can make your own rules. He always attacks authority he is for anarchy, narcissism, etc.

The Yellow Brick to the Emerald City of Obama
Does anyone see the corollary to McCarthyism and the Green movement. All of a sudden people who deny climate change according to Al Gore are as bad as the Nazis were, contributing to a future holocaust. Does that rich bag of wind still have hot air to expel, maybe he is contributing to greenhouse gases and should stop talking before the ice caps melt. Never mind that as much as ice is being added on one side of Antarctica as is calving into the ocean on the other side. Never mind that with a hole in the ozone layer, how is our Earth like a greenhouse, ever see a hole in the roof of your local greenhouse. It would not be much of a greenhouse if all the heat was escaping. Let's see our carbon emission continue to increase unabated, and yet since 1998 the Earth is no longer warming, maybe that is why they don't refer to global warming and have changed to saying climate change. Well yes there may be climate change as this very same group of scientists were predicting global cooling as a disaster just 30 years ago. And as far as weather cycles go, cooling occurs more often than warming. The Little Ice Age occured just 500 years ago, and the last global warming was about 9000 years ago. Must have been caused from all the methane from those mastodon emissions, what do you think?
There is a disconnect between weather and industry by man because if there truly are greenhouse gases caused by burning fossil fuels which is causing the Earth to heat up, then why in the last 11 years has the increase just plain stopped. Am I missing something or is Gore and the other Greenies just engaged in Chicken Little hyperbole. Oh sorry, the sky is not falling, and no there is no greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide, sorry to burst the bubble but there probably is a reason there is a hole in the ozone layer to prevent a greenhouse effect. Excuse me if all the labeling such as climate denier, sounds a bit like McCarthy trying to call everyone pinkos. Oh I know if you are not a greenie, then you must be as bad as a pinko, but they won't call you that as the environmentalists are from the left and that is where the pinkos reside. My bad.

The Gap that never closes
The United States government collects 1.8 trillion dollars every year, however at the present time it is spending twice that 3.6 trillion dollars per year. In the years 2000-2008 5 trillion dollars were added to the national debt, making the national debt as of Dec 2008 10 trillion dollars. Unfortunately at the current rate of spending, another 10 trillion dollars will be added in the next 8 years. The problem is even at a low rate of interest, interest of 20 trillion dollars eight years from now will amount to over 600 billion per year or 30% of the annual budget just to service the debt in interest every year. That does not count the 57 trillion in unfunded obligations for Medicare or the 4 trillion that was "borrowed" from the Social Security trust fund.
At the current rate, estimated revenue by the General Accounting Office is that by 2040 all revenue will go to entitlements and interest, leaving nothing for defense or any other govenment agency. So where will we get the money to pay for entitlements as there is a limit to how much we can borrow at any one time, and we are probably at that limit right now, since we are borrowing 5 billion dollars each and every day!!
Well, rather than raise the income tax rate to 60% on people with incomes above 250,000 which the majority of Americans do not support, what is being floated right now are two taxes , taxes on health insurance benefits and the "European" solution, The VAT(Value Added Tax), a tax of 10-15% on everything at each stage(manufacturing, wholesale and then retail). VAT is a true hidden tax because by time you get it you do not know how much it has been taxed. Of course this would be in addition to a cap n trade(carbon emissions) tax. The carbon emissions(hidden) tax is estimated to bring in 60-80 billion per year, the tax on healthcare benefits is estimated to bring in another 100 billion per year, but the "mother" of all taxes is the VAT, it could bring in 800 billion dollars per year.
C ongress has not proposed the VAT yet, it is still in discussion as they want to pass the cap n trade first, then healthcare reform "funded" by a tax on healthcare benefits along with "ghost" savings of 300 billion or more according to the White House, which would be one of every 7 dollars currently spent on healthcare by eliminating waste and fraud. That does not fool anyone even the CBO Congressional Budget Office.
Then to really bring in the dough, then the VAT. The question is how far down this yellow brick road to the Land of Ob, are we willing to go before we say enough with the smoke and mirrors, this is as President George H. Bush said nothing but voodoo economics.
